On the morning of July 30, the People’s Committee of District 7 held a press conference to announce the implementation of the “Night-time Economy and Tourism Plan” approved by the Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee at the end of 2023.

According to the plan, District 7 will pilot the night-time economy in three selected areas to boost tourism. Sky Garden – The commercial and Culinary Street, with its strong existing business infrastructure, has been chosen as the first pilot area. The grand opening of the Sky Garden Commercial and Culinary Street is scheduled for August 30, marking the first step in illuminating the night economy of this bustling southern part of HCM City.

The Sky Garden Commercial and Culinary Street spans 2.6 hectares and is located within the boundaries of Nguyen Van Linh Parkway, Pham Van Nghi Street, Street No. 2, and Bui Bang Doan Street. This area already houses over 220 high-end businesses, including 125 food and beverage outlets, 40 beauty care facilities, 25 commercial and service enterprises, and 31 accommodation establishments.

District 7 plans to standardize the branding for over 200 businesses along this Commercial and Culinary Street. Each establishment will feature a consistent brand identity and QR codes, ensuring easy recognition for visitors and providing a safe and enjoyable experience. The operating hours for the Sky Garden Commercial and Culinary Street are from 6 PM to midnight. Traffic in the area will continue as usual, with no restrictions on vehicle movement.

At the press conference, the People’s Committee of District 7 also introduced the logo and slogan for the commercial and culinary street. The logo, which conceptualizes District 7 as a radiant diamond in the heart of Ho Chi Minh City, shaped like the number 7, includes images of the Anh Sao Bridge and Phu My Bridge, as well as symbols representing shopping, culture, and arts activities. The slogan “Classy – Ecofriendly – Joyfully” reflects the high standards of “Premium – Environmentally Friendly – Full of Inspiration” that these night streets aim to bring to the local Vietnamese community, residents of various nationalities, and tourists.

The other two areas included in the plan are the pedestrian, commercial, food, and cultural street at Crescent Lake (Ho Ban Nguyet) – Star Light (Anh Sao) Bridge in Phu My Hung, which is being studied for high-end development, and Street No. 11N in the Bank Residential Area (Tan Thuan Tay Ward).

It is known for the Tan Thuan Export Processing Zone and Phu My Hung City Center, serving as the HCMC’s southern gateway. Phu My Hung City Center, with its multi-national citizenry, well-functioning business establishments, clear roads, and security, has significant advantages for developing tourism, food, and night economy.

In the near future, District 7, particularly Phu My Hung City Center, will become vibrant, attracting new visitors. These night streets promise to offer an attractive dining and entertainment spot for the local Vietnamese community, residents of various nationalities, and tourists.
