Phu My Hung Corporation and Lawrence S. Ting Foundation award scholarships totaling nearly VND 8 billion
Nearly 8 billion Vietnamese dong have been awarded to outstanding students by Phu My Hung Corporation and the Dinh Thien Ly Community Support Fund, through both direct and indirect scholarship programs.
The “21st Dinh Thien Ly Scholarship Award and Sponsorship Presentation 2023” was organized by Phu My Hung Corporation and the Dinh Thien Ly Fund on the morning of September 23, 2023, at the Saigon Exhibition and Convention Center (SECC) in District 7, Ho Chi Minh City.
During the ceremony, Phu My Hung Corporation and the Dinh Thien Ly Fund granted 190 direct scholarships, totaling more than 2.2 billion Vietnamese dong, to outstanding students who have overcome difficulties and actively participated in community activities.
Each Dinh Thien Ly scholarship is awarded to college students with a value of 14 million Vietnamese dong per year, and high school students receive 6.3 million Vietnamese dong per year.
In addition to direct scholarships, Phu My Hung Corporation and the Dinh Thien Ly Fund also awarded indirect scholarships with a total value of over 5.7 billion Vietnamese dong to charitable organizations and educational promotion associations across all 63 provinces and cities in the country. These scholarships aim to support students who are facing difficult circumstances, orphans, and those with disabilities.
Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Albert Ting, a member of the Executive Committee of the Dinh Thien Ly Fund, shared: “I hope that the Dinh Thien Ly scholarships will provide additional strength to students on their journey to overcome adversity. In the future, when they have achieved success, I hope they will become ‘seeds of goodwill’ and spread the spirit of community support.”
During the event, the Dinh Thien Ly Fund received numerous contributions from individuals, organizations, and businesses, totaling over 13 billion Vietnamese dong.
Mr. Phan Chanh Duong, the Director of the Dinh Thien Ly Fund, stated: “In addition to the Dinh Thien Ly scholarships, in the coming time, the Dinh Thien Ly Fund will continue to enhance its programs and activities in the field of education, specifically the ‘Thien Than Cham Buoc’ (Angels with Slow Steps) project, aimed at improving the educational environment for children with disabilities in Vietnam.”
