Grand Opening of the new CIS campus in Phu My Hung

On March 9th 2014, the Canadian International School (CIS) held the Grand Opening of its new campus located at Nguyen Luong Bang street, Phu My Hung Urban Area, District 7, HCMC. In harmony with the BCIS campus across the street, both campuses create a large-scale, modern and most advanced educational complex in Vietnam in the dynamic, peaceful and impressive design.

The campus complex of CISS at Phu My Hung consists of two Phases and covers 39,000-square-meters with the estimated investment capital of VND950 billion (US$46 million), with the 13,000-square-meter first Phase for BCIS campus completed on November 2012. The second Phase, the new CIS campus with the Maple Leaf Stadium, which is for students of the whole system, covers approximately 26,000-square-meters.

This new campus will be the new home for CIS students (previously studying at the Binh Chanh campus). Together, these two campuses will create a full campus complex for the whole CISS, including CIS, BCIS and the Canada-Vietnam Kindergarten (CVK). More modern and advanced than the old campus at Binh Chanh, the new CIS campus at Phu My Hung offers students the best facilities for the comprehensive educational aim.

Also at the ceremony, Mrs. Nguyen Thi Kieu Oanh, President of CISS’s BoD, shared the good news of CISS’s soon-to-be new member named Albert Einstein at the first CIS campus in Binh Chanh. “Borrowing the name of the greatest scholar of 20th century, we put high expectations in successfully creating an advanced and efficient educational environment for students in Vietnam through our unique, innovative and creative way of education. With the attendance of this new school in CISS, I hope that our educational system will continue to be accepted by the community as a positive contribution to the mission of educational innovation and human development for a better society,” she proudly said.

Mrs. Nguyen Thi Kieu Oanh, President of CIS’s BoD, confirmed the school’s determination in continuing its journey to an educated imagination which can express the cultural character of today’s global citizen.

Many exciting sports activities and arts performances were also held all over the new campus to offer visitors a chance to experience a part of the enthusiastic and energetic life of CIS students in an advanced facilities system, such as: swim team practice in the competition-sized olympic swimming pool with international competition-standard size; music performances in the 3D cinema with specialized sound and lighting system and a capacity of nearly 400 seats; badminton, handball and basketball matches in the 1,250-seat indoor sport stadium with modern aircon and ventilation system and competition flooring that meets the standards of FIBA (International Basketball Federation)…
