Ho Chi Minh City’s District 7 to open 2 pedestrian streets
Two pedestrian streets will open in District 7, Ho Chi Minh City to offer tourism and commercial services to visitors and locals alike.
The two streets will border Ban Nguyet (Crescent) Lake and Street 11N, and include an array of food stalls.
The opening of the two pedestrian streets is part of a plan to pilot the city’s nighttime economic growth program to advance tourism.
Authorities in District 7 are in charge of ensuring food safety, firefighting and prevention, environmental protection, and regular checks on prices on the two planned walkways.
The Ho Chi Minh City Department of Industry and Trade had previously proposed the municipal People’s Committee develop the tourism-driven nighttime economy at three locations in District 7.
As planned, a tourism, cultural, and pedestrian street will be put into service at the Crescent Lake – Anh Sao Bridge compound in the Phu My Hung residential area.
Meanwhile, cuisine, commercial, and pedestrian services will be maintained on a section of Ton Dat Tien Street, stretching from Nguyen Van Linh Boulevard to Anh Sao Bridge.
The area will also host art and cultural performances.
The pedestrian area will open daily from 18:00 to 0:00, while entertainment and cultural programs will finish prior to 22:00.
Another pedestrian street and cuisine area complex will be erected on Street 11N in Tan Thuan Tay Ward. It will open at night from Friday to Sunday, and on national holidays.
The municipal department hinted at upgrading food, trading, and entertainment services at the Sky Garden commercial and cuisine center in Tan Phong Ward.
