The 18-year journey of charity walking named Lawrence S. Ting
The 19th Lawrence S. Ting Charity Walk 2024 is expected to take place on Jan. 20, 2024, at Ho Ban Nguyet (Crescent Lake) in Phu My Hung City Center, District 7, HCMC. The program’s message is “Footsteps of sharing” which is consistent since the first time it was held in 2006.
The event is organized by Phu My Hung Corporation in collaboration with the People’s Committees of District 7, District 8, Nha Be County, Binh Chanh County aiming to raise funds to support social welfare activities in the localities and other places.
After 18 times of organization, this event has attracted about 225,000 participants, and raised more than VND44 billions. All the money raised from the event is used to support families in difficult circumstances. The “One Heart” Fund of HTV, the “Fund for Sports Talents” of the HCMC Department of Culture and Sports are also on the list of organizations benefiting from the community’s contributions to this meaningful program.
There are many supports from the organizations and individuals on the program for 18 years such as Taxi Mai Linh, Phu Hung, Hoa Binh Instruction Group, Care Plus, etc.
Most of the routes of Lawrence S. Ting Charity Walk program are the axis of famous locations including Ho Ban Nguyet – Anh Sao (Star Light) Bridge and Kenh Dao (Canal) District where has the Southern River sense, bring the breeze cold and beautiful view for both walking and sight-seeing.

| The program’s name is “Phu My Hung Cross Country Tournament”, which was started in 2003 to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the establishment of Phu My Hung and the completion of phase 2 of Nguyen Van Linh Parkway. More than 4,000 participants attended.
On January 8th, 2006, the program was organized under the name “Lawrence S. Ting Charity Walk Program” to commemorate Mr. Lawrence S. Ting, the late Chairman of the Board of Directors of CT&D Group and Phu My Hung Asia Holdings. This is meant to be a tribute to his contributions to the development of Phu My Hung City Center. |
