What do expats expect when buying homes in Vietnam?
The amended Law on Housing allowing eligible foreign expatriates to buy and own homes in Vietnam took effect on July 1. It is expected to benefit both real estate developers and foreign home buyers.
“The new law that came into force on July 1 made me confident to bring money from Australia to Vietnam to buy property here for my family. Now I feel safe with the future here,” Michael Kart, an Australian living in HCMC, said after visiting Happy Residence projects at the Phu My Hung real estate transaction office.
Living environment is the most important
Foreigners will expect a green and clean living environment plus beautiful landscape and safety when they look for a home in Vietnam. They also pay attention to educational and healthcare facilities.
“We have visited several areas in my search for a home. Phu My Hung has infrastructure facilities like school and hospital that I am used to in my home country, and meets international living standards. This gave me the confidence to buy a house in Phu My Hung,” Kart said.
The master plan for Phu My Hung urban area, which covers 409 hectares in HCMC’s District 7, was drawn up by U.S. firm Sidmore Owings and Merill while its detailed plan for functional areas was made by Japan’s Kenzo Tange Associates. These two companies are among the world’s leading real estate companies.
Many foreign customers said they are confident when purchasing homes in Phu My Hung thanks to transparent procedures and adequate information. Phu My Hung has around 30,000 residents with 50% of them coming from nearly 20 nations and territories.
Happy Residence – an appealing residential area
The Happy Residence project, which is underway in Phu My Hung town, has captured much attention of locals and foreigners.
Covering nearly 9,600 square meters, Happy Residence has four 19-storey buildings with 554 apartment units and 13 stores. The apartments measure 71 to 92 square meters each.
The project site is in the Southside district, next to Riverside Residence, and faces Nguyen Luong Bang Avenue, where many commercial centers have gone up. Its amenities include swimming pool, gym, BBQ area, clubhouse, and children playground, etc.
Great added values of the project are that international schools and parks covering one to 4.5 hectares are within walking distance, and Happy Residence is around one kilometer from the Crescent Mall and the international commercial and financial district of Phu My Hung via Nguyen Luong Bang Avenue.
